IMPACT OF CORONA VIRUS ON DENTAL PRACTICE- A CURRENT STATUS

ABSTRACT
Corona viruses (CoV) are a great family of viruses that cause ailment ranging from the common cold to more severe sicknesses such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).2-14 days represents the current official estimated range for the novel coronavirus COVID-19. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the 2019–20 corona virus outbreaks a pandemic and a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). In the current situation dental practices are more
chances of expose to tremendous risk of 2019-nCoV infection due to the face-to-face communication and the exposure to saliva, blood, and other body fluids, and the handling of sharp instruments. Dental professionals play great roles in preventing the transmission of 2019-nCoV. Here we recommend the infection control measures during dental practice to block the person-to-person transmission routes in dental clinics and hospitals.
