Abstract

CLINICAL EFFICACY OF BENZOTHIAZOLE IN ANTITUMOR ACTIVITY: A RECENT TRENDS

ABSTRACT

Object: In this study, we investigate the recent research on the antitumor activity of benzothiazole. Benzothiazole is an important molecule in a heterocyclic compound and has a wide spectrum of therapeutic activities. Recent trends on antifungal activity of benzothiazole: In this study, we found benzothiazole derivative is the most active ingredient in the treatment against carcinoma cells. In their many benzothiazoles substituted/conjugated compounds synthesized and showed better activity against breast, colon, cervical, laryngeal, and lung cancer cell lines. All synthesized compounds are N-(5-Nitrothiazol-2-yl)-2-((5-((4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)amino)-1,3,4-
thiadiazol-2-yl)thio)acetamide, 1,2,4-triazine based 2-[(5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-yl)thio]-N-(6- substitutedbenzo/(thiazol)-2-yl)acetamide, 2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-benzothiazole, N(1)-(6-chlorobenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-N(8)-hydroxyoctanediamide, N(1)-[6-(trifluoromethyl)benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl]-N(8)-hydroxyoctanediamide, N(1)-(thiazol-2-yl)-N(8)-hydroxyoctanediamide, [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyridine, N'-formyl-2-(5-nitrothiophen-2-yl)benzothiazole-6-carbohydrazide, 2-(4-amino-3-methylphenyl)-5-fluorobenzothiazole, 5-fluoro-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-benzothiazole, N-[4-(Benzothiazole-2-yl) phenyl]-2-aryloxyacetamide, N'-formyl-2-(5-nitrothiophen-2-yl) benzothiazole-6-carbohydrazide, 2-phenylimidazo[2,1-b]benzothiazole, 2-(4-amino-3-methylphenyl)-5-fluorobenzothiazole, 2-{2-[3-(benzothiazol-2-ylamino)-4-oxo-2-thioxothiazolidin-5-ylidenemethyl]-4-chlorophenoxy}-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-acetamide, 2-(3,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-6-hydroxybenzothiazole, 3-(4-(Benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl) phenyl acetate, 4-chloro-1-dimethylaminomethyl-3-(6-methyl-benzothiazol-2-ylimino)-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one, 4-bromo-1-diethylaminomethyl-1H-indole-2,3-dione, (8-(7-chlorobenzothiazol-2-ylsulfanyl)-9-(2-cyclopropylamino-ethyl)-9H-purin-6-ylamine), 2-methyl-4-nitro-2H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid[2-(cyclohexanecarbonylamino)benzothiazol-6-yl]amide, 2,6-dichloro-N-[2-(cyclopropanecarbonylamino)benzothiazol-6-yl]benzamide, and 2-(4-Amino-3-methylphenyl)-5-fluoro-benzothiazole. Its identification under taken by various analytical and spectroscopic technology (NMR, IR, US-Vis, FTIR, and Mass). Further many complexes synthesized with benzothiazole included as Zn & Cu metal-based, Pt(II) &Pd(II) complexes, silver complex, M(I)(CO)3(NNO) (M = Re, 99mTc) complexes, ruthenium(II)-vanadium(IV) complexes, platinum(II) & palladium(II) chlorido complexes, and Re & (99m)Tc complexes. The synthesized complex was identified by melting point, 1H NMR, vibrational spectroscopy, UV-VIS, ESI-MS spectroscopic techniques; and X-ray crystallography was confirmed complex structure. Conclusion: The expert opinion concluded as benzothiazole has better antitumor activity against many carcinoma cells included breast MCF-7, colon (CaCo-2), cervical (HeLa), breast (MCF-7), laryngeal (Hep-2), and lung cell lines. It also helps in the development of a new type of antitumor drug.
