“CLINICAL EXAMINATION OF DEHA BALA – A REVIEW”

ABSTRACT

Examinatotion of Bala has been classified in many ways by Acharyas. Sushruta opines that Sookshma Jnana of Dehabala(Shareeraka bala), Agnibala & Chetas Bala of a person is important & to be thoroughly assessed by a physician.1 Acaryas have mentioned various kinds of examination of a Rogi like Eka, Dvi, Tri, Chaturvidha, Sadvidha, Ashtavidha & Dashavidha. Among which Dashavidha Pareeksha plays a significant role in critical assessment of Bala of a Rogi. Many aspects of Dashavidha Pareeksha can be considered as parameters for examination of Shareerika or biological strength of a person. Hence this article is an attempt to gather all the scattered parts of Dashavidha Pareeksha in the light to assess Shareerika Bala of a Rogi.
