Abstract

A REVIEW ON BIOLOGICAL POTENTIAL OF PROSOPIS JULIFLORA

ABSTRACT

People are using herbal medicine from centuries form centuries for safety, efficacy, cultural acceptablitiy and lesser effects. It is due to increase of awareness and knowledge about plants. One such species introduced from the new to the old world was Prosopis juliflora, a hardly evergreen tree of the arid and semi-arid environment. Theses plant are known to contain various active principles of therapeutic vlaues and to possess biological activity against number of diseases. This Study aim is biological potential of Prosopis juliflora. The plant believed to have several therapeutic effects including Antidiarrhoeal Properties. Prosopis juliflora belonging to family Fabaceae. It Is found in india, aslo called as mesquite. Mesquite herb is used to treat wound healing and diarrhoea. These plant Leaves Contain arabinose alkaloids such as 5-Hydroxtryptamine and tryptamine.
