EVALUATION OF VRANA ROPANA (WOUND HEALING) EFFECT OF VATA (FICUS BENGALENSIS LINN.)

ABSTRACT

Vrana which possess a great problem in the skin, this problem is difficult to manage. Efforts are being made all over the world to discover agents that can promote healing and thereby reduce the cost of hospitalization and save the patient from amputation or other severe complications. The need for safer and effective wound-healing agents and the lack of enough scientific data to support the claims made in ancient literature prompted the present study. Vata is one such herbal drug, which acts as Vrana Ropana as mentioned in classics. With this perspective, the study is selected for the critical assessment of Vrana Ropana effect of Vata as an experimental study.
