ABSTRACT

Medicinal plants are considered as a rich resource of ingredients which can be used in drug development. Lablab purpureus a slender twining shrub, belonging to Fabaceae family. The histological changes in the paw tissue synovial changes and radiological change in joints of the methanolic extract (MEL) was observed. In this study attempt was made to characterise antiinflammatory property in relation with histological and synovial changes in the paw tissue. Significant antiinflammatory and analgesic property of the plant extract was observed (p<0.05) when compared with control.
