Abstract

“URENA LOBATA AND URENA SINUATA”– A CONCISE COMPARISON

ABSTRACT

Medicinal plants and their derived products are one of the potential sources of modern medicines. Urena is a genus belonging to Malvaceae family, which has promising medicinal effects and is used traditionally in treating many diseases as well as disorders. Urena lobata L and Urena sinuata L are the two prominent species among them. Due to the close morphological similarities and resemblances between these two species, their identification and usages are quite confusing among the researchers. In this review an attempt has been made to differentiate these two species with the available evidences.
