Abstract

SCREENING FOR ANTIDEPRESSANT ACTIVITY FROM AQUEOUS BARK EXTRACT OF SYMPLOCUS RACEMOSA

ABSTRACT

In recent time there is an increase in global utilization of herbal medicine in the treatment of various desease affecting human. The highly safety profile and low cost of herbal medicines have been reported as the major factors responsible for the increased upsurge in herbal medication. The subject of the phytochemical analysis, phyto chemistry or plant chemistry has developed in recent years as a distinct discipline, somewhere in between natural product organic chemistry and plant biochemistry and its closely related to both. It is concerned with the enormous variety of organic substances that are elaborated and accumulated by plants and deals with the chemical structures of these substances, their biosynthesis, turnover and metabolism, their natural distribution and their biological function .At the present work Collection of plant material, Extraction of the crude, screening of antidepressant activity.
