It is explained as principled (3 Sutra Hetu-Linga - Aushada). The anatomy of the eye has been described in Ayurveda in detail by the divine Vaidya Ashwinidwaya. The Brihadāranyaka Upanishad is one of the most ancient hand books of the Vedic literature. It says that there is two Akşi, one as the Vishwāmitra and the other Jamadagni which are located in two of the seven cavities of the Śiras. Ācārya Suśhrutha has given much more importance to the eye.
