Abstract

MEDICINAL PLANTS FOR WOUNDHEALING AND ANTIINFLAMATORY ACTIVITY: A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Herbal medicines become an item of global importance both medicinal and economical. The herbal medications have better patient compliance and lesser side effects when compared to allopathic medication. Traditionally large numbers of herbal medicinal plants are used for the treatment of wounds and inflammation. Wound healing process is also known as interdependent cellular and biochemical stages which are trying to improve wounds. Different mechanism have reported to improve wound healing by herbal medicines. Hemigraphis colorata is mainly used for wound healing activiy. Vitex negundo and Glycyrrhiza glabra is good for its anti-inflammatory activity.
