ASSESSMENT OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND PRACTICE OF DENTISTS RESIDING IN CHENNAI ABOUT REGENERATIVE ENDODONTICS

ABSTRACT

Aim: The aim of this survey is to assess the knowledge, attitude and opinion of dental practitioners practicing in Chennai towards the Regenerative endodontic procedures. Materials and methods: A questionnaire containing 15 questions were formulated and circulated through electronic media among various dental practitioners in Chennai. Results: This survey revealed that more than two-thirds of the respondents had knowledge about Regenerative procedures in Endodontics. Most of the respondents felt that this treatment strategy should be incorporated into dentistry. However, the results indicated that one third of the respondents were practicing Regenerative therapy. Conclusions: The results reflected that most of the dentists have knowledge about Regenerative procedures and are keen on practicing the same. However, the results also showed that most of the dentists wanted the implementation of the procedures in an effective way to reach out to the patients.
