Abstract

LIQUISOLID TECHNIQUE: EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUE FOR SOLUBILITY ENHANCEMENT

ABSTRACT

Drug dissolution and its release from the dosage form have basic impact on bioavailability. Bioavailability mainly depends on solubility of drug. Liquisolid technique is a novel approach for oral drug delivery system. This technique is suitable for poorly or water insoluble drugs and also used for sustained or immediate release formulations. The drug is dissolved or dispersed in suitable non-volatile solvent and this liquid is converted to free flowing powder by using suitable carrier and coating material. Tableting carried out by direct compression.
