ABSTRACT
Isoniazid also known as isonicotinyl hydrazine, used as a first line anti tubercular medicine in treatment of tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) bacteria. Isoniazid, as part of Directly Observed Treatment Short course (DOTS) regimen is universally used because of its excellent potency, safety and low cost. The main adverse effects of isoniazid includes psychosis, peripheral neuritis, hepatitis and variety of neurological manifestation (paresthesia, numbness, mental disturbances and rarely convulsion). Here we report a 60 year old female patient infected with MTB, after 10 days of isoniazid therapy, developed acute psychosis.
