ABSTRACT Psoriasis is a common dermatological disorder which is T lymphocyte mediated autoimmune inflammatory disorder. Clobetasol propionate [CP] has anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative activity. The aim of this study was to investigate and evaluate a nanoemulsion of clobetasol propionate. For the preparation of nanoemulsion eucalyptus oil was taken. Nanomulsions were prepared by aqueous phase-titration method. Pseudoternary phase diagrams were constructed for the identification of nanoemulsion existence zones. Prepared nanoemulsions were subjected to different thermodynamic stability tests and characterized for droplet size, dispersivity index, viscosity and refractive index. In vitro skin permeation of clobetasol propionate through rat abdominal skin was determined by the Franz diffusion cell. Finally formulation was tested for their In vitro irritation study to confirm that our formulation has no irritation potential. Histopathological study was also done to confirm their irritation potential. The prepared nanoemulsion is a potential vehicle for improved topical delivery of CP for better treatment of psoriasis and atopic demetitis. Keywords: In vitro irritation study, clobetasol propionate, nanoemulsion, transmission electron microscopy, histopathology study. [Full Text Article] |
