ABSTRACT
Mycoplasma pneumoniae accused for some serious diseases in
human, drug resistance of M. pneumoniae started to appear in some
parts of the world . M. pneumoniae gets many hypothetical proteins
which could represent drug targets . First step in drug design /
discovery starts with estimation of target protein druggability (Drug
Score). This study aimed to investigate druggability of M.
pneumoniae M129 hypothetical proteins using DoGSiteScorer server
. Different relationships between protein descriptors was studied .
Strategic proteins were chosen for further studies , and those were
proteins with high number of interactions with other proteins , second
level of filtering was to chose membrane proteins and transporters .
Results revealed that the proteins : MPN313 , MPN657, MPN661, MPN152, MPN244,
PN268, MPN269, MPN400, MPN489, MPN570, MPN647, MPN648, MPN666 are suitable
for further investigations such as looking for suitable ligands and their docking to find out
new inhibitors .
Keywords: Mycoplasma pneumoniae, hypothetical proteins, druggability, drug targets , drug design/ discovery , DoGSiteScorer server .
