Abstract

A CASE REPORT ON MUTRASHMARI

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda, the system of medicine and science of life deals with the wellbeing of mankind. In various Samhitas of Ayurveda, about Ashmari there are lots of references avail and it’s is elaborated as a separate diseases with specific management. Mutrashmari is a Tridosaja vyadhi, where the vitiated vata dries up the Mutra so the kapha present in mutra attains the form of Ashmari, considered under Mahagada. Symptom and presentation of Urolithiasis is quite same as Mutrashmari. In Urolithisis, pain in abdomen, burning micturition, dysuria, hematuria etc. which resembles with similar symptom like vedana, sadhyamutrata, mutrakrichha, sarudhirmutrata. Despite of modern techniques, recurrence rate of urolithiasis is high. The only rational treatment in this therapy is surgical removal of stone. But, does not stop the formation of stone. Many preparation available in Ayurveda to treat Mutrashmari. Tiladi kshara and swadanstradi kwath help to break down samprapti of mutrashmari by the ashmaribhedan, deepen, pachana, mutrala, bhedana, lekhana properties. Combination of two preparation Tiladi Kshara (Paniya kshara) and Swadanstradi kwath with pathya apthya regimen was selected for subside symptoms, disintegration / expulsion of Mutrashmari.
