PHARMACEUTICAL STUDY OF “LIP HEALER” WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO “BHAISHAJYA RATNAVALI”

ABSTRACT

Ayurved has many formulations explained by Ayurvedic seers which are compiled in Ayurvedic classics for effective management of diseases. Screening of Ayurvedic classics reveals that most of the formulations are still unexplored and it is the need of present era to explore some more Ayurvedic formulations for treating diseases more effectively. Present study focuses on exploring the formulation “Lip Healer”. Lip healer is a herbo-mineral Ayurvedic formulation. This formulation is indicated for chapped or cracked, pigmented and wounded lips in Bhaishajya Ratnavali. In present study, literature review has been done through various sources like internet, journals and books regarding the lip healers and an attempt has been made to formulate a lip healer. The observations observed during the preparation of lip healer are also discussed.
