Abstract

ROLE OF VRUSHCHEERADI KSHEERPAKA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF KAPHAJA SHOTHA

ABSTRACT

Today’s era is more prone to different diseases ,Due to modernization of life of all human beings who are taking fast food, virudhha ahar, ratrijagaran, diwaswap. These all hetus are responsible for dosha vrudhi or kshaya inturn causes dhatu, mal dusti which leads to various diseases. Among them Shotha is common vyadhi manifest due to above hetusevan. Due to causative factors vatadosha , rakta, pitta & kapha are vitiated causes rasvaha and udakvaha strotodushti these doshas are lodged in the sira1 which circulate in the body and extremities. Due to defect in the circulation, the mansa, twak are badly affected and ultimately it results in shotha. shotha is one of such vyadhi which has considerable importance regarding its prevalence and its ability to show severity of disease. among the various types of shotha, kaphaja shotha is common. A 54 yrs old male subject came to opd having complaints of ubhaya pada shotha, shotha worsens during night, and associated with aruchi, nidradhikya, agnimandya since 4 months. The subject was treated with vrushchiradi ksheerpaka. which is mentioned in vangasena. Patient showed marked improvement in symptoms.
