IN – VIVO STUDY FOR OVULATION INDUCING ACTIVITY OF GANDHAGA CHENDHOORAM IN FEMALE WISTAR ALBINO RATS

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Siddhars are well known for their unique method of disease classification and treatment. They have also classified the female diseases. Nowadays the female populations were affected by various diseases. PCOS is considered to be the major burden in our society. In Siddha aspect the disease is known as Soodhagavayu. There are so many treatments available in Siddha classical literature. One of the valuable preparation in siddha literature is known as Gandhaga chendhooram. Aim and Objective: Aim of the present study is to validate the ovulation inducing activity of Gandhaga chendhooram in female wistar albino rats. Materials and Methods: The medicine preparation is taken from the Siddha classical literature “Anuboga Vaithiya Navaneetham” written by Hakkim P. Mohamad Abdul Sayabu, Page No-38. Result: In the dose of 20 mg GC increase the FSH level, significant increase in the level of LH possess ovulation induction in female wistar albino rats.
