Abstract

ESTIMATION OF CHLOROPHYLL CONTENT IN LEAVES OF TRIGONELLA FOENUM-GRAECUM LINN.

ABSTRACT

The seasonal variation of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoid has been investigated in the leaves of Trigonella foenum-graecum L. Comparative account of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoid content of leaves of Trigonella foenum-graecum revealed that, the highest amount of chlorophyll a (range from 2.232 to 2.600 mg/g fresh wt.), chlorophyll b (range from 0.899 to 1.123 mg/gfresh wt.) and carotenoid (range from 3.342 to 4.107 mg/g fresh wt.) content in the leaves of Trigonella foenum-graecum.
