ABSTRACT Background: Asthma is chronic, inflammatory disease of the airways affecting human beings worldwide. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of anti-asthmatic drugs on Penh associated with the respiratory parameters using Barometric Whole-body Plethysmography. Material & Methods: The hannover rats (n=8) were divided into 6 groups for the study of Penh, Tidal & minute volume, inspiratory and expiratory flow rate. Theophylline and carbachol were administered orally and methacholine and clonidine in aerosol form.
