ABSTRACT

The present study is to prepare the fast dissolving tablet by a novel effervescences granulation method in which a specific amount of sodium bi carbonate and citric acid was taken and prepared their granules by water of crystallization method. The prepared granules were used as a disintegration agent in tablet formulation from 4-10 % in nine formulations. The concentration of effervescent granules was optimized by preparing of dummy formulation. In all nine batches, the batch F-3 Was found best all evaluation parameters of tablet. It also showed the best release (99.79 in four minutes). The in vivo study reveals that when effervescent granules(10%) and starch starch paste (5%) were used in formulation, the plasma concentration of drug was increased because, it disintegrate tablet rapidly and drug was released rapidly from dosage form and reach quickly in to systemic circulation resultant bioavailability is increased.

Keywords: Effervescence, Fast dissolving, Sodium bi carbonate, citric acid, water of crystallization.
