FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL SCRUBBING SOAP USING WASTE PEANUT SHELL

Roshani Manohar Gharat, Dr. Shital Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad*, Pranjal Rajaram Gharat

ABSTRACT

The present study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of an eco-friendly scrubbing soap using peanut shell powder as a natural exfoliating agent. Peanut shells, an agricultural waste, were utilized to enhance sustainability while providing effective cleansing and exfoliation properties. The soap was prepared by incorporating powdered peanut shell into a base formulation containing oils, sodium hydroxide, and other additives. The prepared formulation was evaluated for various physicochemical parameters such as pH, hardness, foam stability, moisture content, and cleansing efficiency. Additionally, exfoliation performance and skin compatibility were assessed. The results indicated that the formulated soap exhibited good cleansing action, adequate foam formation, and effective exfoliating properties without causing skin irritation. The present study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of an eco-friendly scrubbing soap using peanut shell powder as a natural exfoliating agent.
