Abstract

SYNTHESIS, XRD AND BIOLOGICAL STUDIES OF (2E)–2-(1H-INDOLE-3-YLMETHYLIDENE) CYCLOHEXANONE

ABSTRACT

A new compound (2E)–2-(1H-indole-3-ylmethylidene) cyclohexanone has been synthesized based on Claisen-Schmidt method and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, and XRD. X-ray crystal structure analysis has been carried out to determine the composition and molecular structure of the compound. The crystal packing exhibits unit cell parameters, bond lengths and bond angles. The compound was evaluated for its antibacterial and anti-microbial activities.
