DESIGN, SYNTHESIS AND IN-VITRO STUDIES ON NOVEL CINNOLINE DERIVATIVES AS POTENTIALANTI-OXIDANT ACTIVITY
Dr. P.R. Logeshkumar*, Dr. S.K. Senthilkumar, A. Jayavarthani, R. Jeevitha, S. Kanimozhi, J. Karthick, K. Karthiga
ABSTRACT The cinnoline ring is aromatic heterocyclic compound connected with two nitrogen atoms in a six membered ring. Cinnoline shows variety of pharmacological activities including anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-oxidant activity. Cinnoline is isomeric with other nitrogen containing heterocyclic like quinoline and phthalazine. In this study a series of novel cinnoline derivatives were strategically designed and evaluated for In-vitro anti-oxidant potential. In-vitro anti-oxidant activity was assessed using hydrogen peroxide assay. The synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic technique such as IR to confirm their structural integrity.
