FINITENESS AS A PROPERTY OF ALGORITHMS IN AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF SKIN DISORDERS
*Rujuta Joshi
ABSTRACT Ayurveda, the traditional system of Indian medicine, has provided structured approaches for managing skin disorders (Kushtha) for centuries. These approaches involve sequential diagnostic assessments and therapeutic interventions that can be conceptualized as clinical algorithms. In computational theory, finiteness is a fundamental property of an algorithm, ensuring that it terminates after a finite number of steps. Applying the concept of finiteness to Ayurvedic treatment protocols is critical for ensuring clinical safety, treatment efficacy, standardization, and reproducibility. This article explores the mapping of Ayurvedic treatment pathways onto algorithmic frameworks, emphasizing finiteness, and discusses its implications for clinical practice, research, and future integrative approaches.
