IN VIVO STUDY OF CHENOPODIUM ALBUM FOR CARDIOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITIES.

ABSTRACT Chenopodium album (Family Chenopodiaceae) in Indian system of medicine is a potent herb and has got many biological activities. The green leaves of the plant have been reported to have hepatoprotective activity, bactericidal action, antispasmodic and analgesic properties, anti-parasitic effect.but the role of the plant in cardio protective needs to be evaluated since until now, it shows grey areas and loop holes which need to be sorted through research. Hence, the ongoing study aims to investigate the effect of ethyl acetate soluble extract of Chenopodium album and its isolated active principles on the cardioprotecive, with a view to study its potential effects on the cardiovascular system as mentioned in the Indian medicinal plant.
