CASE STUDY ON HERBAL NASAL SPRAY AS A TREATMENT FOR ALLERGIC RHINITIS
Dr. Vishvamitra Pandey*
ABSTRACT Allergic rhinitis is an atopic condition marked by a type I hypersensitivity reaction that results in the development of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against a variety of environmental allergens, including pollen, dust, cold, and heat. Clinically, symptoms include nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and headache. In Ayurveda, the illness is closely related to "Vataja Pratishaya," which appears as symptoms such as Tanu Nasa Shrava (thin nasal discharge), Shirashoola (headache), and Kshavathu (sneezing). Ayurveda, as a key component of complementary and alternative medicine, provides a comprehensive approach to treating such illnesses. The study was systematically divided into four main phases: Conceptual Study, Pharmaceutical Study, Analytical Study, and Clinical Study. Significant symptomatic relief was observed within 5 days of treatment, with approximately 80% improvement in nasal secretion, mucosal redness, and overall nasal congestion. This study highlights to prepare and conduct an analytical study of Herbal Nasal Spray and to evaluate its effect in the management of Allergic Rhinitis. Keywords: .
