ABSTRACT A brief introduction to the nutraceutical, around 2500 years ago Hippocrates once remarked, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,". Nutraceuticals are the separated products made from food that are mostly sold as medications. They are essential for enhancing health and preventing chronic illnesses. Because they offer beneficial physiological effects on the human body and minimise negative effects, nutraceuticals are increasingly being employed in place of medications. Additionally, nutraceuticals have been created to cure a number of illnesses, including diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and colon cancer. Nutraceuticals come from a variety of sources, including fruits, vegetables, marine life, and medicinal plants. The Food Safety and Standard Act was passed by the Indian government in 2006 in order to regulate the nutraceutical sector. Keywords: Nutraceutical, nutritional supplements, medicinal plants, prevention, treatment. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
