Abstract

ABSTRACT

The study of toxicology has undergone significant transformations, from its origins in traditional medicine to its current status as a sophisticated scientific discipline. The use of natural substances has given way to the development of synthetic drugs, and the field has expanded to include a range of testing methodologies. Today, toxicology is a multidisciplinary field that seeks to understand the complex interactions between substances and living organisms. This review provides an overview of the current state of toxicology, including its history, principles, and applications. It also highlights the potential of marine-derived compounds as therapeutic agents and discusses the challenges and opportunities facing the field in the future.
