ANALYSIS OF HEALTHCARE ACCESS FOR MANAGING DIABETES IN SEMI-URBAN AND RURAL AREAS AROUND DELHI
Dr. Ridima Kamal* and Dr. Reshu Pathak
ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus presents a formidable public health challenge in India, disproportionately affecting populations residing in semi-urban and rural areas where healthcare access is often compromised. This study endeavors to comprehensively analyze the challenges and disparities in healthcare access for managing diabetes in these regions surrounding Delhi. Employing a mixed-methods approach, encompassing quantitative surveys, qualitative focus group discussions, and in-depth analyses of healthcare facility data, we assessed the availability, affordability, and acceptability of diabetes care. Our findings reveal significant gaps in access to diagnostic services, specialized care, and patient education. Furthermore, socioeconomic factors, geographical barriers, and cultural beliefssignificantly impact diabetes management. The study underscores the urgent need for targeted interventions to improve healthcare access and diabetes management in these underserved populations. Keywords: .
