COMPARISON OF LIPID PROFILE PARAMETERS BETWEEN SMOKERS AND NON-SMOKERS: A REGRESSION AND ANOVA ANALYSIS
A. Divya, Chandramouli V. Sastry and S. V. M. Vardhan*
ABSTRACT This study aimed to compare the lipid profile parameters between smokers and non-smokers. A total of 50 participants, consisting of 25 smokers and 25 non-smokers, were included in the study. The results of the ANOVA analysis showed significant differences in all lipid profile parameters between smokers and non-smokers. The regression analysis revealed that smoking status was a significant predictor of lipid profile parameters. The findings of this study suggest that smoking is associated with adverse changes in lipid profile parameters, which can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
