ROLE OF PANCHKARMA AND SHAMAN CHIKITSA IN SHITPITTA –A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT

Shitpitta\Urticaria is a dermatogical condition itchy rashes, that apper suddenly on any skin region. In Ayurveda Shitpittais described as Tridoshaj vyadhi, but there is vitiated vata and kapha dosha along with dushya pitta affects the Rakt Dhatu producing symptoms on Skin likekandu, daha, toda etc. Medical scienties have develop treatment method but probability of recurrence is also high in this disease. Hence it is necessary to find out an effective treatment for shitpitta. The purpose of this study is to access efficacy of ayurvedic management based on Panchkarma Chikitsa. This patient is first treated with Shaman chikitsa also deepan pachan was done followed by Abhyang, Swedan, Raktmokshan, and Virechan Chikitsa for adequate control. This Study shows that Panchkarma Chikitsa may helpful in such skin condition.
