Pushpa Godara*, Bhushan Kumar Chougule and Vidhi Thakral

ABSTRACT

Cervical erosion is a leading cause of gynecological visits among women of reproductive age, accounting for 70% of such cases. Various risk factors contribute to recurrent cervicitis, which may eventually lead to cervical cancer. The objective of this case study was to assess the efficacy of Agnikarma with Rajata Shalaka in treating cervical erosion. Methodology: This case study involved the application of Rajata Shalaka in a single session during the preovulatory phase of the menstrual cycle in women diagnosed with cervicitis. Diagnosis of cervical erosion was based on clinical symptoms. All necessary hematological tests were performed before the treatment. Prior to the procedure, Yoni Prakshalana was done using Panchavalakala Kwatha, followed by Yoni Pichu Dharana with Yashtimadhu Taila. For the next seven days, Yoni Prakshalana was continued using lukewarm water to maintain hygiene. Result: The cervical erosion healed completely, and no recurrence was observed over the following two months. Conclusion: Rajata Shalaka proved to be effective in both the treatment and prevention of recurrence of cervical erosion.

Keywords: Rajata Shalaka, Agnikarma, Cervical erosion, Yashtimadhu taila.
