Abstract

MANAGEMENT OF VISARPA THROUGH RAKTAMOKSHANA- A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT

Visarpa is a very common skin ailment explained in Ayurveda. The clinical features of Visarpa closely relates with that of Herpes zoster. The predominant Dosha in Visarpa is Pitta, which mainly due to its Drava and Sara Guna results in easy spreading of the disease in the body. Raktamokshana gives a very effective result in Visarpa Vyadhi. The presented case is of a 48 year old male with complaints of Rakta Krishna Vaivarnyata and Pitikotpatti over left lumbar region along with other associated complaints. Improvement in the signs and symptoms was seen within 1 week of the treatment given.
