AN OVERVIEW ON PANCHAGAVYA GHRITA FROM SAMHITAS

ABSTRACT

Panchagavya Ghrita is a medicinal formulation mentioned in the Brihat Trayis for internal administration mainly in cases of Apasmara – Epilepsy. Five key ingredients are there like-dung, urine, milk, curd & Ghrita of Desi cow. It is also useful in Unmada, Vishamajwara, Shotha, Pandu, Kamala. The study includes references of Brihat Trayis & Laghu Trayis, the method of preparation of Panchagavya Ghrita and action of each individual ingredient.
