PROPRANOLOL THERAPY: A CRITICAL EVALUATION OF ITS EFFICACY, SAFETY AND TOLERABILITY IN CLINICAL PRACTICE

ABSTRACT Propranolol is a Beta- Blocker. It blocks both the Beta1 and Beta2 receptors. Propranolol is being used widely in the health care settings. A cross sectional study in India shows that Propranolol is used for wide range of therapy both for the Prophylaxis and for the therapeutic management as well. Among the 20% of the Indian population 15% said they had taken Propranolol as their therapeutic drug.
