BARCODING IN HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY- REVIEW
G. S. Sharma*, Mohd. Sohail, M. Harshasri and T. Rama Rao
ABSTRACT The purpose of this work's presentation is to inform healthcare professionals about the challenges related to the use of barcoding technology as an Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) system. When developing, processing, and implementing barcoding technology for the automatic identification of healthcare products and materials as well as for capturing and extracting/retrieving data from the same, AIDC systems are required to investigate resources that are enhanced with current information on the principles and technology involved. Following that, the data were analyzed, condensed, and intended to be presented for the benefit of stakeholders in the healthcare settings. When using barcoding technology as an AIDC system in healthcare settings, the information included within will keep experts in the field informed about issues and concerns raised by business partners and regulatory agencies. As a result, healthcaresupplies and materials will be handled carefully to reduce environmental risks, injury or death, and to enhance the performance, profitability, and profit of many stakeholders in healthcare settings—all of which ultimately contribute to the welfare of humankind.
