ABSTRACT
Bhaishajya Kalpana is one of the most important branch of Ayurveda which deals with processing, preparation and application of medicines in different diseases. Sneha Kalpana is a method of processing the drugs with Sneha dravya. Of all Sneha dravya ghee, oil, muscle fat and marrow are better ones in their order respectively. Among them, ghee is the best one because of samskara anuvartana. Ksheera shatpala gritha is a formulation quoted by number of acharya which has 6 kalka dravya, ghee as sneha dravya and milk as drava dravya. According to few acharya kalka dravya contains yavakshara along with panchakola and according to few acharya it contains saindhava lavana along with panchakola. Ksheera and gritha are common drava dravya and Sneha dravya respectively. Yavakshara yuktha ksheera shatpala gritha is indicated where srothoshodana action is needed and Saindhava lavana
yuktha ksheera shatpala gritha is indicated where deepana, pachana and ruchikara action is needed.
