Abstract

DEMENTIA AND GERIATRIC COGNITIVE DISORDER

ABSTRACT

Dementia is a major health concern worldwide. Dementia has become a common disease in people over 60 years old. As age increases, the power of understanding things, visual power, auditory power etc. decreases because of the physio pathological changes in body. In present era because of the sedentary lifestyle people are getting old soon and facing many issues, like dementia, Alzheimer, Parkinsonism etc. and Dementia is a syndrome in which there is deterioration in cognitive function, beyond what might be expected from the usual consequences of biological ageing. Currently more than 55 million people lived with Dementia worldwide and there are nearly 10 million new cases every year. It’s currently the seventh leading cause of death among all diseases and one of the major cause of disability and dependency among older people globally. Here is an attempt to discuss about the major cause, sign and symptoms, the struggle phase that affect people and their therapeutic management to prove disease free, harmonical, peace and healthy ageing.
