PREVALENCE OF MULTIPLE DISEASES IN HARIHARPUR AREA OF LUCKNOW WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO HUMMA (FEVER)

ABSTRACT

The fever is an important physical condition in which body heat increase according to Unani physician Buqrat (Hippocrates) Jalinoos (Galen) Raazi (Rhazes), Sheikh Ibne Sina (Avicenna) Ismail Jurjani and Indian Unani Physician Hakeem Mohd Akbar Arzani, Hakeem Mohd Azam Khan and Hakeem Ajmal Khan the flame of fever lit in the Heart and then spread to other parts pf body. It is amazing to study Avicenna’s Hummiyat-e-Qanoon and understand the ancient science’s approach towards fever and it’s after effect. The modern medical system has discovered so many antipyretic drugs to treat different types of fever but Undoubtedly the approach is same from incidence to mortality and formulation which are safe and better to treat fever in general clinics around the globe but due to prevailing mind set and dominant western life style these drugs are not receiving the kind of respect they deserve, the Giloy, Khaksi. Tulsi Mulethi, Banafsha are only few examples. The SCSP program open a window to understand the status of fever in rural hamlet of Lucknow.
