Abstract

A SINGLE CLINICAL CASE STUDY OF PAITTIKA OSHTAPRAKOPA W.S.R TO ECZEMATOUS CHEILITIS

ABSTRACT

All the organs of the body can get afflicted with imbalanced vata, pitta & kapha Doshas lips are not an exception. Oshtagata Rogas are set of Diseases occurring in the lips, they are part of Mukhagat Rogas (Diseases occurring in mouth & its part). They are also called Oshthaprakopa. The Mukha(Oral Cavity) is considered to be one of the most important parts of the Uradhwajatru. A clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of ayurvedic drug on paittika Oshthakopa. It is a common complaint of patient attending OPD; occur due unhealthy dietary patterns and improper habits. It is neither a serious disorder nor a life threatening one, but at the same time it can be crippling by grossly disturbing the individual’s day to day lifestyle. Pratisarana one of the Upkrama of Ayurveda, advocated from health primitives, Disease preventive, curative and restorative purposes. In Ayurveda Yashtimadhu Ghrit & Gairika churna has activities like Vranashodhan, Vranaropana, Shothahara, Dahaprashamana, Vata pitta shaman, Vedanashamana, properties which can help the oshtakopa heal rapidly. The aim of study was to see the effect of Yashtimadhu Ghrit & Gairika churna pratisarana in Oshtakopa. Hence the study is planned to evaluate the role of Yashtimadhu Ghrit, Gairika churna done with pratisarana and internally intake of Arogyavardhi vati, Gandhak Rasayan, Mahamanjishtadi kwath, Dadimavleh, Paripathadi kwath in the management of pittika Oshtakopa. A 19 years old female patient reported with the complains of Daha (Burning sensation in lips), Pain (shoola), Dalyate (lips crack), paripatyate (fissures are formed in the lips), Kandumantu (lips are itchy)will be taken. For that she approached contemporary medical science for treatment. But her complaints did not subside, so she came to our hospital.
