FLOWERS AND SEEDS OF DELONIX REGIA A RICH SOURCE OF VITAMINS

ABSTRACT

The young leaves, buds, petals and pods of D. regia were analyzed for vitamin profile. Vit. E was noticed in the petals, seeds and in buds, among them buds contain Vit. E was higher than the petals and seeds. Seed showed lower value than petals. The Vit. C was higher in buds than the petals. Niacin was noticed in the young leaves, petals, seeds and buds, among them petals showed higher levels than the young leaves and seeds. The Pantothenic acid was reported only in the petals and absent in other parts. The Pyridoxine content was higher in petals than the young leaves while in seeds and in buds Pyridoxine was absent.
