VITAMIN D3 AND CALCIUM RELATION: A MAJOR DILEMMA IN RECENT TIMES

ABSTRACT

Objective: This study was done to try to understand the correlation between Vitamin D3 and Calcium and to study how they affect each other. Materials and Methods: This is a cross sectional study of all patients who reviewed Alhomsi clinical laboratory to test for Vitamin D3 and Calcium levels based on the Physician evaluation and clinical presentation. This study was done on patients from July 2017 to October 2018. Results: At presentation, most of the patients’ serum calcium values were in the low normal range. Vit D3 values were deficient in most cases. After treatment with Vit D3 Most of the patients showed an improvement of vit D3 values from insufficient to sufficient. Most of the patients’ serum calcium values reached the high normal range.
