Abstract

DETERMINATION OF ASCORBIC ACID IN BLUMEA MOLLIS

ABSTRACT

The content of ascorbic acid was determined in Leaves, Stem and Roots of Blumea mollis. The plant samples were collected from along the roadside of Amravati city area. The absorbance of abscorbic acid of the samles was measured by colorimetery method at 540 nm. Each sample was analysed for ascorbic acid by taking three observations. The average content of ascorbic acid was found maximum (5.283 mg/g) in leaves with 1.115 standard deviation. The minimum amount of ascorbic acid was recorded in the stem (0.808 mg/g) with 1.150 standard deviation.
