ABSTRACT

Prastari Arma is one among the Shuklagataroga. It can be correlated to Pterygium based on the character of growth. Pterygium is a common ocular-surface disorder capable of causing significant visual impairment and cosmetic deformity. At present surgical treatment is the only satisfactory approach, recurrence after surgical excision is common and recurred lesions grow more aggressively than the primary lesions. The ayurvedic approach of the disease mainly concentrates on preventing the progression of the disease. With this aim clinical study was undertaken. The objective of the study is to assess the effect of Narikela Rasakriyaanjana with or without Patoladi Ghrita internally in the management of Prastari Arma. After observing the results, it was concluded that the Narikela Rasakriyaanjana with Patoladi ghrita internally was found to be effective in reducing Foreignbody sensation, Redness, Watering, Length and Thickness.
