ABSTRACT

Healing of a wound is a natural phenomenon; All surgeons are convinced of this phenomenon after observing nature’s effort to close large skin defects in otherwise healthy patients but problems still develop in the healing of many wounds. In a patient, proper healing of a wound or wounds dictates the patient’s outcome. Some evil forces like motion, infection, trauma, unhygienic conditions etc are responsible for impairment of healing phenomenon and these wounds with delayed healing are called non healing ulcers. In Ayurveda, Non healing ulcer can be correlated with Dushta Vrana .With the features of Dushta vrana-A case of Dushta vrana was treated successfully by Trifala Kwath prakshalan locally and dressing with Karanjadi Ghrita.
