ORAL DISINTEGRATING MINI TABLETS: A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

The current review discussed the importance of oral disintegrating mini-tablets as substitute to conventional tablet dosage forms that disintegrate in mouth. Mini-tablets are the Pharmaceutical dosage form they are slightly curved tablets with a diameter ranging between1.0- 3.0mm.Mini-tablets are administrated orally without the need of water, unlike other conventional oral solid dosage forms. Production methods are similar to standard tablets but the only difference is the use of multiple punches. Oral disintegrating mini-tablets (ODMTs) are more suitable for pediatric patients. ODMTs with a sufficient crushing strength ˃7N and low friability
