ABSTRACT
In an Ayurveda therapy mainly plants and their parts were used since the time of its practice and turmeric hold a place honor as it was prescribed for treatment of many medical problems ranging from constipation to skin diseases. It was also used in problems with digestion, fever, inflammation, wound, infection, dysentery, injuries, trauma, jaundice and problems associated with liver. Turmuric has been further explored using advanced new techniques and showed medicinal properties which include antioxidant, anti-mutagenic, anti-cancer, anti-microbial and anticardiovascular activities. In Ayurvedic literatures, â€Å¾Saviryata avadhi‟ term is mentioned in context of the time period during which the Virya (potency) of any drug remains unaffected due to environmental/microbial deterioration; whereas in the contemporary system, the term â€Å¾Shelf life‟ is used to indicate the time period during which an API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) or FPP (Finished Pharmaceutical Product) is expected to remain within the approved stability specification, provided that it is stored under the conditions defined on the container label. In this study Phytochemical, Quality Control Parameters of tablet, pesticide, Physicochemical parameters, Determination of pH, Determination of loss on drying, Water Soluble Extractive Value, Alcohol Soluble Extractive Value, Ash Value, Acid Insoluble Ash, Water Soluble Ash, Heavy Metal Analysis and shelf life of turmocin plus tablet was calculated using real time stability which is found as 3 years.
Keywords: Saviryata avadhi, Virya (potency).
