ABSTRACT
Mobile phones are undoubtedly one of the greatest inventions of human history. The growing importance and popularity of the gadget has made it an inextricable daily commodity of human use. This also makes it prone to be the carrier of a multitude of possible organisms. An attempt was made to investigate the prevailing bacterial population on the surface of randomly collected mobile phones. An antibiotic sensitivity test was also performed to study the effectiveness of the common antibiotics against them and look for the presence of resistant varieties, if any. An approach was made to study the antibacterial effect of phytochemical extracts of Ocimumtenui florum (RamTulsi),
Azadirachta indica (Neem), Cedrus deodara (Deodar), Centella asiatica (Brahmi) and Aloe vera on the identified species of bacteria.
